In the early twentieth century, many artists turned to abstract art to express their own personal views of the divine. Some of these artists, including Prabhakar Kolteagain, Ram Kumar, Tyeb Mehta, Kishen Khanna, and Jehangir Sabavala, created abstract works that reflect their spiritual beliefs. Some of these works were highly influenced by Indian tribal art. Other artists have chosen to incorporate Hindu symbols in their work.

Franck Andre Jamme is one of the most important contemporary poets of abstract art. For nearly three decades, he has been collecting visual communiques. In 1985, he survived a bus accident that claimed his life. While in India, he was inspired to visit the tantrikas of Jaipur and compiled his pulsating compositions. In his book, "An Experiment in the World of Art," he explains the concept of "tantra," the language of the universe, and how to make it better.

This volume is the first book to explore the Tantric painting tradition. Using found paper, these paintings are primarily used for meditation. These geometric paintings eschew figurative depictions and evoke the cosmology of twentieth-century art, such as Bauhaus and Russian Constructivism. These contemporary artists have a profound influence on modern art, and the works in this book are highly influential. In the future, this type of artwork will be widely admired.

The artist's name, Ram Kumar, is an important reference in the history of abstract painting. Known for his colourful and bold paintings, he was born in an isolated village surrounded by natural beauty. His first painting was made with natural pigments.
